Primary school children need to get lots of nutrients and energy from their food to fuel healthy growth and development; their requirements are higher in relation to their body size than adults.
The food children are given at lunchtime and breaktime at school can make an important contribution to their dietary intake.
It is crucial at this age that we encourage our children to eat a healthy, balanced diet and to get plenty of physical activity to help them maintain a healthy weight.
Please note that from the 23rd April 2019 the price of school meals will be £2:20. Pupils in years reception to year 2 receive a universal meal for which there is no charge.
